7.01  Jr-Sr High School HVAC Upgrades (A)

Purpose:  To review cost estimates and approve sending to bid for upgrades to Jr-Sr HIgh HVAC Control system.

Background:  The design of the JSH HVAC system cuts off air to the classrooms as the rooms cool and heaters begin to run.  The control system is out of date and is set up so that only 1 company can come work on it.  This upgrade will allow for us to have more choice and get more competitive pricing when needing to make repairs to our system as well as provide more fresh air consistently to the classrooms. KDHE awarded $150,000 in grant funds to improve the air quality in the building and those funds will go toward this project.

Supporting Documents:   Estimates

Recommendation:  To approve DCS to get bids and complete Jr-Sr High HVAC Upgrades for up to $200,000.
