2018 Race Information

2018 ACCHS Tigers Cross Country

On October 27, 2018 Victoria Caplinger competed at the state championship in Wamego, KS and finished in 41st place.


Victoria Caplinger earned a 6th place finish at our regional meet on Saturday, October 20 in Alma. This qualified her for the state championship in Wamego. Ashton and Madison Appel finished 17th and 18th respectively to conclude their high school careers. Isabelle Beagle was 34th place.

Mason Hawk finished 46th for the boys and Caleb Miller was 61st.


The NEK League Championship took place October 11, and our runners did very well. For the varsity girls, medalists were Victoria Caplinger 6th, Madison Appel 8th, and Ashton Appel 9th. Isabelle Beagle was 1st in the JV girls race. Mason Hawk and Caleb Miller competed in the JV boys race, finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.


For the second week in a row, all the high school runners had their best time of the year. Victoria Caplinger had the 4th best girls time in school history, while Ashton Appel, Madison Appel, Mason Hawk, and Caleb Miller had their all time personal bests. Mason Hawk and Isabelle Beagle also qualified for their cross country letter. Results were:
Girls Varsity - Victoria Caplinger 10th, Ashton Appel 37th, Madison Appel 38th
Girls JV - Isabelle Beagle 4th
Boys JV - Mason Hawk 16th, Caleb Miller 21st
Jr High Girls Fun Run - Renay Myers 5th, Rylee Jennings 7th, and Rebekah Caplinger 14th

The Horton Invitational was a success for our runners. Several individuals had their season best times. It was the last 2 mile race of the year for our Jr High, and both girls set new personal bests. Renay Myers was 3rd in the 7th Grade race, and Rylee Jennings 3rd in the 8th Grade. For the high school, Isabelle Beagle was 1st in the JV Girls race. Varsity Girls results were Victoria Caplinger 12th, Madison Appel 32nd, and Ashton Appel 33rd. Mason Hawk was 11th and Caleb Miller 12th in the JV Boys race.


September 20 was another good day for our runners at the Nemaha Central Invitational. The Jr High girls posted their best times of the year, and nearly all the high schoolers received individual medals. Renay Myers was 2nd in 7th Grade Girls and Rylee Jennings 3rd in 8th Grade Girls. Varsity Girls placings were Victoria Caplinger 4th, Ashton Appel 14th, Madison Appel 15th, and Isabelle Beagle 21st. For JV Boys we swept the top three spots with Mason Hawk, Marcus Hetherington, and Caleb Miller.

All the Tiger runners medaled at the Hiawatha Invitational on September 13. Each of the veteran runners showed significant improvement over their performance at Hiawatha last year. For the boys, Mason Hawk finished 8th and Caleb Miller 10th in the JV race. For the girls varsity, Victoria Caplinger earned 7th, Madison Appel 17th, and Ashton Appel 18th. Renay Myers received 3rd in the 7th Grade Girls race, and Rylee Jennings 6th for the 8th Grade Girls.


Our Junior High runners had a good showing at Jackson Heights on September 10. Renay Myers ran her first race ever and was 3rd among 7th Grade Girls with a time of 16:19. Rylee Jennings improved her time from last year by nearly 2 minutes, finishing 3rd in the 8th Grade Girls race with a time of 17:40. Both girls ran 2 miles.

The Holton Invitational for 2018 has been cancelled due to weather and will not be rescheduled.


The first race of 2018 was a great success, with all returning runners posting improved times over the first race last year. Results of the Jeff West Invitational are:
