2017 Race Information

2017 ACCHS Tigers Cross Country

The Kansas State Cross Country Championship was Saturday, October 28 at Rimrock Farm near Lawrence. Victoria Caplinger was our lone competitor, and had a strong run with a 29th place finish. She ran a time of 21:39 which was very good for the challenging course.


3A Regionals were held Saturday, October 21 at the Leonardville Golf Course in Leonardville, KS. This wrapped up a good season for the majority of the runners. Madison and Ashton Appel ran well, finishing 26th and 27th respectively. Erin Hamilton completed her four year career with a gutsy performance and finished 30th. Isabelle Beagle finished her year several minutes faster than she started and placed 50th. On the boys side, Marcus Hetherington, Mason Hawk, and Logan Kramer finished 62nd, 86th, and 91st.

Victoria Caplinger qualified for state with an 8th place finish and a time of 22:18.


The Big 7 League Championship was on Thursday, October 12th at Seneca. All runners had their personal bests this day, and Victoria Caplinger set the girls 5k school record with a time of 21:16.8. She qualified as all league with an 8th place finish. Erin Hamilton was just outside medaling with a 19th place finish. Ashton Appel finished 24th, Madison Appel 25th, and Isabelle Beagle 32nd. The boys competed in the JV race with Marcus Hetherington 10th, Mason Hawk 25th, and Logan Kramer 33rd.


The Sabetha Invitational was October 5th, with results as follows:

Girls Varsity – Victoria Caplinger 24th, Erin Hamilton 48th, Madison Appel 49th, Ashton Appel 50th, Isabelle Beagle 61st

Boys JV – Marcus Heatherington 17th, Mason Hawk 35th, Logan Kramer 44th

Girls Jr High – Rylee Jennings 8th

Boys Jr High – Lane Mullins 9th, Jaron Chew 10th


On September 28 the Jr High competed at the Big 7 League Meet at Perry.

Girls 7th Grade – Rylee Jennings 6th

Boys 8th Grade – Jaron Chew 17th, Lane Mullins 19th

Results of the Hiawatha Invitational on September 14 were:

Girls Varsity - Victoria Caplinger 14th, Erin Hamilton 27th, Ashton Appel 29th, and Madison Appel 30th.

Boys Varsity – Mason Hawk 58th, Logan Kramer 65th.


The Junior High team competed at the Jackson Heights Invitational on September 11. Rylee Jennings medaled in the 7th Grade Girls race with 5th place. Lane Mullins was 14th and Jaron Chew 18th in the 8th Grade Boys race.


The team ran well at the Holton Invitational on September 7. The only runner to receive a medal was Victoria Caplinger with 10th in the varsity girls race. Complete results will be posted once they are received.


There was perfect weather for the first meet of the year at the Jeff West Invitational. For several runners this was their first meet ever.

Marcus Heatherington was 10 seconds off his best time ever with a 22:42. Both Logan Kramer and Mason Hawk ran well in their first meet.

For the girls, Victoria Caplinger medaled in 11th place. Ashton Appel and Madison Appel started the season strong with times of 26:22 and 27:21. Erin Hamilton had her best time ever for the Jeff West meet, and Isabelle Beagle got a taste of her first race.

In the junior high Rylee Jennings was 31st place for the 7th grade girls. We are still awaiting final results from Jeff West for the 8th grade race.
