This course is an introduction to the advanced classes of animal acience. plant and soil science,wildlife management, landscape design, and agriculture mechanics. Areas of study will include livestock evaluation, leadership and workplace skills, agricultural careers, public speaking, record keeping, and entry-level skills in agricultural mechanics. Upon complemtion of this course, students will have established an Supervised Agricultural Experience program and participated in FFA chapter meetings and activities including Career Development Events. 

 

Outcomes:

1. Students will evaluate various careers in the agricultural industry

2. Explore FFA opportunities and gain knowledge about the histtory of the organization

3. Write a reasearch paper and give an oral presentation 

4. Design, plan, and implement an SAE program

5. Communicate effectively using general animal science terms

6. Become exposed to basic plant taxonomy, horticulture terminology, and plant propagation methods. 

7. Demonstrate safety practices before entering and while working in the lab/shop areas
