Helping Your Child Learn to Read - A Parent Guide (K-3)

This brochure, designed for parents, provides a quick overview of the findings of the National Reading Panel and gives ideas for what to expect from a school's reading program based on evidence from the research (preschool through grade 3). Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Report
Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) is a method for determining if schools, districts and the state have made adequate progress in improving student achievement. AYP is based on participation and performance on state assessments, as well as attendance rates for elementary and middle schools and, for high schools, graduation rates. For the 2004-2005 school year, this school did make AYP. More information on the school's performance on the AYP measures is provided below.

Just for Parents - Kansas Curricular Standards Guide
The Just for Parents booklets were created by the State Board of Education to help parents understand the academic expectations that have been established for their children and the ways they can help their children achieve those expectations.

Students participate in the Kansas State Assessments at grades four, five, six, seven, eight, ten and eleven. Therefore, a Just for Parents booklet was created for each of those grades, outlining the things students are expected to know and be able to do in the subjects assessed at those grade levels.
