05/08/2011 - The Talking Tigers Forensics Team completed its season on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the state tournaments. Both Jessica Schmalstieg and Trevor Oswald competed well at 3A State Speech and Drama Championships, however neither advanced past preliminaries. At State Speech and Drama Festival, Allison Handke received a "I" rating on her Prose Interpretation. Congratulations to all the Talking Tigers on an excellent season.
04/16/2011 Atchison 409 Invitational
The Talking Tigers forensics team completed its regular season at the Atchison High Invitational on April 16. Congratulations to finalists Allison Handke & Levi Nabors, 7th place Duet Acting, Allison Handke 7th place Serious Solo Acting and Jessica Schmalstieg, 1st place Original Oration. Jessica is now qualified to compete at the 3A State Championships, which will be held at Wichita East HS on May 7, 2011.
04/10/2011 - Troy Invitational
The Talking Tigers competed well at the Troy Invitational on April 9, 2011. The team finished 6th in the Sweepstakes competition. Congratulations to finalists Jessica Schmalstieg, 6th place Original Oration and Trevor Oswald, 1st place Prose Interpretation. The last regular season tournament for the Talking Tigers will be Saturday, April 16 at Atchison HS.
03/19/2011 - Horton Invitational
The Talking Tigers Forensics team competed at Horton HS on March 19. Congratulations to finalists Jodi Swendson, 5th place Humorous Solo Acting, Samantha Noll, 4th place Serious Solo Acting, and Trevor Oswald, 2nd place Prose Interpretation. The Talking Tigers will be hosting their invitational tournament on March 26, and will next compete at Troy on April 9.
02/19/2011 - Royal Valley Invitational
The Talking Tigers Forensics Team competed at the Royal Valley Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 19. Congratulations to finalists Katie Barnes, 5th place Extemporaneous Speaking and Allison Handke, 5th place Prose Interpretation. Allison is now qualified for the State Speech and Drama Festival. The Talking Tigers will be hosting their invitational tournament on Febr. 26, and will next compete at Jackson Heights on March 7.
02/16/2011 - DVL Forensics
The Talking Tigers Forensics team competed Wednesday 2/16 at the DVL tournament held at MH-MA. Congratulations to finalists Jessica Schmalstieg, 5th place Original Oration, Trevor Oswald, 4th Prose Interpretation and Jodi Swendson, 3rd place Humorous Solo Acting. The Talking Tigers will be competing at Royal Valley on Feb. 19.
02/12/2011 - at Nemaha Valley
The Talking Tigers forensics team competed at the Nemaha Valley tournament on February 12. All team members competed well. Congratulations to Trevor Oswald, who placed 4th in Poetry Interpretation and 3rd in Prose Interpretation. Trevor is qualified to compete at State Festival in Poetry and 3A State Championships in Prose. The Talking Tigers will next compete at the DVL tournament Wednesday, Febr. 16 at MH-MA.
02/05/11 - at JCN
Congratulations to the Talking Tigers Forensics team, which placed 6th at the JCN tournament. Samantha Noll placed 6th in Serious Solo Acting, Jodi Swendson placed second in Humorous Solo Acting and Trevor Oswald placed 1st in Interpretation of Prose. Trevor is now qualified for the 3A State Championships in May. The Talking Tigers will next compete at Nemaha Valley on Feb. 12, 2011.
