05/04/2011 - Here vs. Wathena
The Lady Tigers continued to roll with a pair of wins over Wathena on Wednesday night. Game one of the double hitter was tight, with the Tigers overcoming a 3-0 deficit in the first inning to finally win 7-4. Morgan Martin led the Tigers with 3 hits in the first game, helping the Tigers tie the game and finally get the lead. In the second game, the Tigers didn't wait for their offense and scored 8 runs in the first 2 innings. leading the Tigers were Nikki Schied with 2 triples and Allison Wallisch with a walk, double and a monster triple that hit the fence. Jenna Thompson pitched 7 strong innings without allowing an earned run.
04/21/2011 - Here vs. Troy
The Lady Tiger softball team won 2 hard-fought games against Troy. The Tiger's offense wasn't hitting as well as normal, but the pitching held Troy and the Tigers were able to win 5-2 in the first game and 11-8 in the second. They will play Valley Falls next Thursday for 2nd place in the regional.
04/04/2011 - Here vs. Oskaloosa
The Lady Tiger Softball team split a double header with Oskaloosa Bears on Monday, winning the first game 11-2 and losing the nightcap 12-2.
The Tigers won their first game behind great pitching and good defense in the first game. Jenna Thompson got the win for the Tigers, allowing 1 run on two hits and striking out 6. The Tigers had timely clutch hitting, which allowed them to stretch the lead out to 11 to 1 in the 5th inning, when the game was called.
In the second game, the Tigers faced good strong pitching from Oskaloosa, giving up only 2 runs in 7 innings. The Tigers kept it close for 3 innings but eventually allowed 12 runs in 7 innings and suffered their first loss on the season. Haley Reiff and Jenna Thompson both had homeruns. The Tigers are now 3 and 1 on the season.
03/31/2011 - At Wathena
The Lady tiger's Softball team won their first 2 games of the season against Riverside. They were led by dominating pitching performances by Jenna Thompson and Haley Reiff. Jenna allowed no runs with only one hit while fanning 5 hitters. The game was called after 3 innings when the Tigers went up 16 to 0. Haley had a perfect game with no runs, no hits, and no errors. She also had 5 strikeouts and some great defense behind her. The game was called in the 3rd inning with the Tigers up 30 to 0.
